A:Answer Here's an example for you. The first line is written in black ink (fine line pen). The second is written in pencil with normal pressure - not trying to make it intentionally dark, just normal writing. The third line is using extremely light pressure, so that the original image is pretty light. As you can see, both of the first two are very legible; the third barely shows. I don't have a standard #2 pencil, so I would say that a standard #2 pencil would actually write darker than these. I didn't mess with the settings; this is just the default. I think it would serve your purpose. I honestly love this printer because of the small footprint and the fact that the scans are quick and easy.
