• I use a desktop iMAC and scan directly in to Documents. I have not tried to scan photos, but I believe the instructions said it could. The unit works well, but I have yet to be able to use it wirelessly. I still just have it hooked up to my desktop and have not tried it out of the office as yet.

• Not sure on scanning docs directly into Word as don't know how that would even work but it does scan photo's just fine into your computer.
