"Be sure,if the refrigerator has a rear cardboard cover, to replace it after service. If it is damaged, cut a new one from a cardboard box (prepared pizza delivery boxes work great!) The open fan cover grill areas are not critical but the solid ones are vital. These covers force air to be pulled over the hot condenser, cooling it, rather than being sucked in from open areas at the rear of the refrigerator. Without this cover it will overheat and may burn out the compressor."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey! Based on the model you selected, the cardboard behind the lower part of the refrigerator is supposed to stay installed. I hope this helps! -Courtney
Sorry, there was a problem. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They sell that card board piece for $90 online
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My setup guy took it off and threw it away with the rest of the protective coverings. He said it was just to stop any vibrations during shipping
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it forces air over the compressor and coils and routes air over evaporation tray and out the front kick panel. Cardboard works fine, why spend more money on metal and weight and shipping costs to make the rube in the other comment feel like they are getting something special. The little fan inside that pushes air from freezer to fridge area is what they should have spent more money on, mine burned out twice and not my landlord is throwing it in the dump and spending $1000 on an ugly new one that's 25% less efficient.
