A:AnswerMy experience with this refrigerator is that it throws off heat from the sides, on the lower half of the unit. It feels very warm to the touch, so I would suggest you have a wide space for air circulation to those sides.

If it remained in an upright position the whole time including the handling from the truck to its final position, it would not take hardly any wait time.

On mine, I can put a 48oz Motts applesauce jug or a couple of them, on the very bottom of the main space of the unit. You will only have sixteen inches of height above the narrower bottom part, where you have 12 inches of depth.

A:AnswerI don't think a carpet would be a problem. I think under a counter would be fine. I would suggest about 2 inches to the sides because this is where the heat radiates out, from the lower half of the sides and gets rather warm.
