I've had this 70-pint Frigidaire brand for years. Never had one freeze up. Have had them blow warm air after a while, but until the unit is running but shows no decrease in humidity for a few hours and it still shows 70-80% humidity, then you'll have to get a new one. I live in a very high humidity city and it keeps my indoor around 50%, while taking the pressure off my main A/C to keep pumping water (humidity) out.

One of the most common reasons for your dehumidifier freezing up is typically the temperature of the room it is in. Most dehumidifiers work perfectly well at 65 degrees or above but if the air temperature is any lower than this you could see your dehumidifier icing up. We hope this information was helpful to you. -Ciara
