QuestionIs there a mute button for controlling the beeping sounds?I read elsewhere there is a mute button for the beeping sounds if you wish to turn them off. However, on your Q&A, you answered a buyer that there were no controls for muting. Could you guide me in the right direction whether this unit has such a feature?

- Answer HANGING KIT JXA019K IS NOT THE CORRECT HANGING KIT FOR THIS MODEL MICROWAVE, IT ONLY WORKS WITH THE JEM3072 MODEL. THERE IS NOT A HANGING KIT AVAILZBLE FOR THIS COUNTERTOP MODEL.

QuestionturntableI had a ge microwave #jes833wy 02 which had a flat glass bottom inside . Do you not make that model anymore or one like it? I hate the turntable. Please let me know I live in Tampa and would love another like mine. It lasted 18 years!!!!! Another question if the turntable is removable can the microwave be used without the turntable? Or does the turntable have to be used all the time? Thanks Robyn

- Answer There’s a bumper on the back, top right of unit that keeps it a little away from a wall. So, with the unit pushed back to the wall as far as it allows, which is where it is placed while in use, the distance from the wall to the front edge is 12.75 inches. That’s with the door closed, of course.

- Answer Hi Curious - Yes, it can be placed in an open cabinet with recommended air clearances (3" of clearance on both sides and the top; 1" clearance in the rear). The front edge of the microwave (measured at door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. If located on the counter near a range, we recommend locating it at least 2 ft. away. Do not place near or over a heat source. Thanks for choosing GE! Sue

- Answer To clean use a hot, damp cloth with a mild detergent for stainless steel surfaces and use a clean, hot, damp cloth to remove soap. Finally, dry with a dry, clean cloth and scrub lightly in the direction of the grain.

- Answer Hi April - The microwave has Cooking Complete Reminder feature. This is a beep that occurs once every minute after the normal cooking cycle has ended. It is designed to remind you when the cooking time has completed. Begins 1 minute after the "Cooking Complete Signal". This is different from the "Cooking Complete Signal" which is 4 beeps heard only once and directly at the end of the cooking cycle. To terminate 'cooking complete reminder', touch Clear/Off or open the door. Also, this model has Sound On/Off option. Press SOUND pad for mute or normal. Thanks for your interest! Sue

QuestionIs their a knock out for the power? Meaning, is there an I dentin for where the unit would plug into the wall? With limited space I need to place the power receptacle in the best place so that the plug doesn't chew up valuable space. Thanks

- Answer The power cord comes out of the top right (if you’re facing the front of the unit) rear of the oven. There is a tab that extends from the point where the cord comes out (maybe to protect from getting smashed against a wall?) but the rear of the oven also extends out in a bulge(?). There is no cord storage cavity but one could tuck the cord under the rear bulge. See photo.

QuestionWhy are there 2 supports that go under the glass turntable? One has a middle pc that holds the plate in place & had the part that supports the plate while turning. The other is one pc thatdoesn't have the configuration to hold the glass turntable. Why?

- Answer Dear Mountain Girl - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This microwave does not offer a trim kit to built into a cabinet nor a hanging kit for mounting it under a cabinet. If you wish to set a countertop microwave such as this inside a cabinet, then it should have a 3" air clearance on each side and on the top, and a 1" air clearance in the rear. In cabinet installation for countertop microwaves is not recommended without the use of a built in kit. But if a built in kit is not available, then the above air clearances are necessary. If the microwave is located near a range, a two foot clearance on the side adjacent to the range will be necessary. Microwaves cannot be mounted over a range unless they are specifically made to be an over-the-range model, with a vent included. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
