- Answer Hello Dave - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. A GE water filter is not required to operate the icemaker and water dispenser on this refrigerator. You will want to install the bypass plug that comes with your refrigerator if you do not wish to use a water filter. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

QuestionThe temperature in fridge reads 51 degrees and the freezer 20 degrees. I can still hear the a motor sound running in the back of the fridge. What might be the problem?

We are sorry to hear it is not cooling properly and apologize for any inconvenience this unusual issue has caused. When a refrigerator is first installed, allow 24 hours for it to stabilize to normal operating temperatures. Some cooling should be obvious in the freezer within approximately one hour. The temperature controls are preset in the factory at 37°F for the refrigerator compartment and 0°F for the freezer compartment. Make sure the refrigerator doors are level and fully closed. Questionwhat is the difference between this model GSE25HGHWW and the GSE25GGHWW? I can't see the difference but sine the GGHWW is less expensive, what I am missing?

- Answer It took me about two minutes of continuous pressing for the water to start coming out. The installers did mention that to me, I don't know why your installers didn't tell you that. They also left my owners manual... inside the fridge!!! LOL! I guess you should start looking for yours inside the shelves.

- Answer Hi Dave- Thanks for choosing GE! To remove the Arctica ice storage bin, grasp the bottom edge of the bin on the sides. Use caution - Do not place your fingers out of the opening at the bottom front part of the bucket where the crusher blades are. The bucket can be heavy if full. Lift up on the front of the ice bucket so the bucket clears the stops on the ice bucket rail. Pull the bucket forward and out. - Answer The refrigerator/freezer is 69 inches tall without the hinges and 69.5 inches with the hinges. The unit is 35.75 inches wide. The depth of the unit is 32.25 inches without the handles and 35.75 with the handles.

QuestionCan anyone tell me if the doors have a self closing mechanism or do they swing open and stay open?

- Answer Doors will close by themselves if less than half open. If you open fully, the doors will stay open. The front control panel has a “door open” signal that starts to beep if the door is open for several minutes. You can press the button to stop it if you are organizing of cleaning the frig.

QuestionI know this has an alarm, but when does it sound? My current stupid LG fridge doesn't sound the alarm if its left open only an inch, that has definitely caused problems.
