QuestionDoes this stackable washer and dryer run on 110 volt?

- Answer Hi Krnhny13- Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. Electric models should be connected to a dedicated 240V or 208V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. The power cord should be purchased separately. Thanks for choosing GE! SUE@GEA

QuestionPer the side view photo on the GE web site, the back of the dryer is farther back than the back of the washer so with side venting, the back of the machine can be against the back wall. Is this correct ? If yes, is it 30.87 " to the washer front?

- Answer Hi HerbK- On GUD27 unitized washer/dryer units, the dryer is deeper in the rear than the washer. The overhang is 4" past the back panel of the washer, which means it sticks out past the vent, electrical, and plumbing connections. The dryer can sit up against a wall without adding any extra depth to the unit. This provides space for the connections in the rear. Because of this overhang, the unit does not need knockouts to vent to the left or right side. The vent elbow can be turned left, right, or down as needed. QuestionIs the agitator suppose to go slow. I bought this and it is agitating very slow. It doesnt seem right.

- Answer Hi Jaye - Many top-load washers have a "traditional" agitator. It has spiral fins that turn through the water during the wash cycle. This action moves the water, which in turn moves the clothes down against the agitator into the water and up the sides of the washer. The slow movement is normal and gentle on clothes. QuestionI live in a condo and the dryer vent must be on the left side. This unit does not have knockouts to place the vent on the left. Can I have someone cut a hole on the left section where there is usually a knockout so that I can vent it on the left?

- Answer Hi Mojo - This unit can be vented from the rear, left and right sides. The dryer is deeper in the rear than the washer. - Answer Hi Bargainseeker23- The washer basket is stainless steel. The dryer drum is DuraDrum which is a galvanized steel drum that is double coated with tough polyester paint and backed with a stainless steel rear. - Answer Hi Micci. This is Richard. Thanks for the question. It is because it is new. This noise will occur during agitation on a new washer when the brake pads are wearing with the breaking surface. This noise should go away after a short time. All the best!

- Answer Only one electrical outlet is requiere 220V. Installation is pretty easy. Appliance had a hose set included even though bestbuy suggest to buy it which I did only to realized it was inside the washer basket after I installed the appliance. Hope this helps others.

QuestionWe have socks, underwear, Etc in between the frame of the washer and the washing bin. How do I take a piece off, or something, to get to them for retrieval? I've called GE and the lady I spoke with knew absolutely nothing.

- Answer Hi Shalonda - Thanks for reaching out to us. We can certainly understand your concern to retrieve the items. We apologize you were unable to get assistance when you called GE. If you need to remove the front panel, unplug this appliance from the power supply. Locate 2 spring clips between top and front panel (Approximately 4 inches in from corners.) Insert putty knife between top and front panel and push in to release clips. Pull top of front panel forward, lift up and off bottom locating tabs. To reassemble: Place bottom of front panel on existing "locating" tabs at bottom of washer cabinet. Align front panel with washer cabinet and top, push in until front snaps onto spring clips. If you need further assistance, we suggest to schedule a service appointment online at GEAppliances.com/service or call 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this is helpful! Sue

QuestionWhat would be Amperage at nameplate? If I buy this combo unit I am not sure I will have enough "juice" at my old load center. I know it will take 30Amps breaker and electrical cord but what is Amps or let's say Wattage? Thank you

- Answer Hi - Thanks for considering GE! Heater is 4500W, washer motor is 350W; dryer motor is 430W (full load) or 165 W (no load); total load (4500+350+430) = 5280W or 5.280 KW. This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 240V or 208V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by 30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers KW Rating per voltage (240/208). - Answer Yes. I’m using it with an indoor vent kit. Just make sure you’re space has good air circulation ie: a window or door near it. Otherwise you will get moisture. The unit works great by the way!

- Answer Hi - This unit is not labeled HE. Top-loading and front-loading GE Appliance washers with the HE label are defined as washers that use low-water levels in wash and rinse cycles. Some GE Appliance washer models have the "HE" label on the control panel and other models do not. However, GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. Keep in touch! Sue
