Questionhow quiet is this AC? and how long is the plug?

- Answer It's really loud. I don't know if it's just my unit, but the reviews said that the eco/cool mode shouldn't be louder than the fan mode and it is significantly louder. To the point where I have to turn my volume from 11 to about 45 to hear the TV (I'm sure the neighbors love that) so I usually keep it running on cool mode for about as long as I can stand it and then turn on fan mode. It's not ideal at all, my cheaper GE in the bedroom (non smart) is much quieter.

QuestionThis unit will be used in a barn small room. My plan is to hook it up to a portable thermostat which will usually be set on 85 degrees. will this work?

This air conditioner is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Sonos, and the Google Assistant using our SmartHome app. If your portable thermostat is compatible with one or more of these systems, it may work, but we do not offer any specific information or support on these accessories. We are happy to let you know that this unit does come with a remote, but it works within a set range of 20 feet and works on infrared. We also recommend that it be installed in its own dedicated space where the airflow will not be restricted. It can be set in temperatures ranging from 64-86 degrees F. QuestionHow do you remove the filter of this GE Air Conditioner, AHP08 LZW1.? Best way to clean the filter.

- Answer Hey there, and thanks for reaching out to us. We certainly understand how important a clean filter is and are happy to provide instructions. To remove the filter for cleaning, simply open the inlet grille by pulling downward on the tabs at the top upper corners of the grille until it’s at a 45 degree angle. The filter can then be removed and cleaned with warm, soapy water. Rinse and let the filter dry before placing it back in the air conditioner. The filter should not be put in a dishwasher, and we recommend cleaning the filter at least every 30 days for best performance. - Answer I am no electrician but here it goes. This windows ac unit is 115v and draws 6amps when under full load, which means you can plug it into a standard home outlet as long as the breaker can support it. Depending on what you have or had installed, a typical room has a 15 to 20 amp breaker or at times you have a standalone plug for one thing such as the 220v plug you have, that sounds like a standalone plug. now some 220v home plugs like the one i uploaded below can be found in a home but just because the plug fits does not means it will work. if you plug a 115v device into a 220v plug some things will happen, it may blow the fuse on the device, the device may fry due to overvoltage or the overvoltage protect may trigger saving the device. 220v plugs contain 2 legs that are hot (each at 120v) and a 115v plug has 1 leg thats hot (120v). If you wish to convert the plug you can contact a electrician or if you are a DIY type of person hit up youtube. always be safe and never mess with live wires. ***NOTE I AM NOT A ELECTRICIAN, PLEASE CONTACT A ELECTRICIAN SO THAT MAY ASSIST YOU ***3 hopefully this answers the questions you had.

- Answer Yes, there is a button on the unit to turn WiFi capabilities on or off. WiFi is not needed to use this unit.

- Answer It draws 6 amps while running the compressor, there will be a small spike when it first turns on, but it is energy star rated, so will not be a large spike. Depends what else is on the breaker. They say to only use a dedicated circuit, but that isn't possible for everyone.

- Answer SCROLL your screen below to see In the "Key Specs" (short for key specifications) that it shows a picture with the unit height & width. The window opening height should be slightly higher than the measurement to allow for installation as well as closing the window tightly to the top of the unit. If possible, install some wood pieces cut to length at the top of the window to keep the window closed while the AC unit is installed (if you remove for seasonal changes). Also, SCROLL below is a PDF download with the "Product Datasheet" for additional measurements and specifications that you can download and PRINT.

- Answer You can remove the air filter of your unit by pulling down on the tabs in the top upper corners of the grille. Your filter can then be pulled out. The full instructions for this can be found on page 7 of the Use and Care manual.

QuestionPurchased unit in July 2022. Worked great until last week 4/16/2024 Unit runs but doesn't blow cold air. Mode is set to Cool and temp set to 64. Room temperature at the time was 75. Very disappointed as it's not even 2 years old. Low on Freon??
