Yes it shuts off when it reaches its set humidity level but will kick back on when the humidity raises back up. Also shuts off when full.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should. I purchased mine in Aug 2020. Only used it two months that year and maybe four month in 2021. Started to use it this year and although it shuts off (before the desired humidity is reached) it will not turn back on unless I reboot it by pressing the power button off and then on again. Very disappointed that it only worked properly for a maximum of six months. For now I go to the basement about every waking hour to reboot it.

Yes, GE dehumidifiers have an automatic humidistat that can be adjusted to suit your individual comfort level. Set the control to the desired humidity level (ex. 45%), and the unit will cycle off when the set humidity level is reached.
