Yes. The operating characteristics of all dehumidifiers creates heat as a byproduct. As they are typically used in basements or below ground levels the heat factor is usually not an issue as the below level rooms are typically cooler due to ground insulation. But, the exhaust fan will always blow out heat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello - Thanks for your question; we are happy to help! Warm or hot air coming from under or behind the dehumidifier is normal and part of the dehumidification process as long as the unit is drawing moisture from the air. When the unit is dehumidifying, the compressor is generating heat as it operates. In order to avoid having the compressor overheat, air is drawn by the compressor at a rapid rate and exhausted from the unit. The warm air will stop shortly after the unit has reached the desired humidity. We hope this helps. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Since all portable dehumidifiers are standalone as a unit, they do produce heat from the condenser which is part of the refrigeration system. Evaporator is cold and moisture condenses on the coils and drains into the container. The condensers job is the turn the gas from the evaporator back into a liquid. This requires pressure which heats the condenser coil. That heat is the output which is warm and will add heat to the room. I have this unit and I am very pleased with the product. Does a great job of removing moisture from my home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I love this dehumidifier. The unit itself gets a bit warm but the air coming out if it is room temp or slightly cooler. This is our second dehumidifier and it works well in our finished basement. It keeps the temp closer to the temp on our main floor with no dampness.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Since most dehumidifiers do generate some heat due to their function, this one surprisingly seems to be cooler than most. I run it in the basement, so it seems perfectly cool in that location....but not sure what it would feel like in your house. It really removes humidity extremely well. Hope this helps.
