- Answer Good day, We appreciate you reaching out and will be happy to explain the ventless drying process. Here are the steps in the drying process: 1.Ambient air inside the unit is heated by a heating element. 2.Process air (heated) enters drum to absorb moisture and dry load. 3.Process air (heated wet) enters the condenser, is cooled releasing moisture. Moisture collects in the tub and is removed from the unit through the drain pump. 4.Process air (cool dry) exits the condenser. 5.Process air (cool dry) enters heater and is reheated. 6.Process air (heated) re-enters drum to absorb more moisture and dry load. - Answer Hello, This is an excellent question to ask! Here's a brief explanation of how ventless drying works. Ventless condenser dryers use a dual loop airflow system. The first loop draws in a small amount of ambient air which passes through the condenser for initial heating. The heated air is then pushed into the drum, where it heats up the wet laundry and causes water to evaporate. This air is then looped back into the condenser where it's cooled down - that's the second loop. The air that's already inside the condenser is reheated and sent back into the drum to repeat the process until the clothes are dry. The water that is extracted goes to a tank or an external drain. QuestionI don't know anything about appliances. Would I basically just plug this in like a regular appliance or do you need to hook it up somehow? I know the apartment doesn't have a laundry setup.. how would I add water to it? It's my first apartment.

- Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in our wonderful new Profile washer/dryer combo unit. While this unit offers the convenience of a washer and ventless dryer all in one, it must be installed in the same manner as a traditional washer. This unit does require a hot and cold water supply connection, a means to drain the water from the unit through the supplied drain hose and must be plugged into a 120 volt dedicated grounded outlet. - Answer Although this is not the answer you are seeking, I want to mention that when the opportunity to toss in a dryer sheet occurs, you can instead toss in wool dryer balls, which will over time save you money while not providing toxic residues in the air, water, and on your body.

- Answer Greetings - Absolutely! You can stop the dry cycle, take what you need out and resume the cycle as normal. You can do so by pressing the 'Start/Pause' button. If the combo is running, pressing it once will pause the cycle and unlock the door. It may take a few seconds for the door to unlock after pressing 'Pause'. You can simply press again to restart the cycle. This model even has a "Wash Complete" feature that has an audible alert that sounds when the wash portion of the cycle is complete and before proceeding to dry. This feature is also available through our SmartHQ app. This feature provides you the opportunity to check on the load, remove certain items, or add a dryer sheet before the drying portion of the cycle commences. QuestionDuring the drying cycle does this machine rotate clothes like during the wash cycle. I would love it if it does because I get tired of trying to dry sheets and they get wrapped in a ball and I have to stop the dryer and unwrap them.

- Answer Hi there - All drying cycles on the Combo use bidirectional tumbling. The key to detangling is to rotate the basket in both directions to allow large bedding to unravel so they don’t ball up. The Combo’s basket rotates in both directions during the drying operation. In addition, the high airflow in the Combo also helps to improve the drying over more of the bedding’s surface. We hope that you choose to become part of the Profile family! -Don@GEA

QuestionHello. Does this unit have a water screen/filter at the bottom front like a typical front loader? If so, is it easily accessible to drain without making a mess? This question derives from my current front loader(not GE) and is not user friendly filter.

- Answer Hey there, and thanks for reaching out with this great question – we appreciate your interest in our UltraFast Combo! Like other front load units, our model does have a pump filter to capture lost items and items that may cause clogs, so they aren’t dumped into the drain. Our pump filter is indeed easily accessible! You would simply open the access door (located at the bottom front) using a small flathead screwdriver or coin and place a shallow pan/dish under the pump access door and towels on the floor (as it’s normal to catch about a cup of water when the filter is removed). Then pull down the pour spout, turn the pump filter counterclockwise and remove it slowly, controlling the flow of the draining water. Once you've removed the filter and cleaned any debris, you can replace it and turn clockwise, tightening securely. Flip up the pour spout and close the access door by hooking the bottom tabs first, then rotate the door shut. This process is described on page 21 of the manual; if viewing that may be helpful, you can check out the manual on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. QuestionI use laundry soap sheets. Flat & a little smaller than a 3 X 5 index card. One for up to a medium load, two for a large load in my 5.0 cu ft “water saving” agitatorless top loader washer. Anybody use these in their GE Profile? How well do they work?

- Answer I use the detergent sheets. I place in marked area where liquid or powder laundry detergent go. You will have to fold or cut the sheets to accommodate.
