Hi there! We appreciate you checking in with us about this. The UltraFast Combo will still run even if you have harder water. However, if you have harder water, you may have to use additional detergent/softener to ensure a proper clean due to the hardness of the water. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Even with city water I would still recommend a water treatment system such as a water softener. With city water a softener is not required however a softener will aid in the cleaning of your clothes.
