We recommend HE (high efficiency) detergents in all of our clothes washers as they are formulated to provide superior cleaning performance while eliminating the potential for over-sudsing. Our specific recommendations are as follows: use only HE (High-Efficiency) liquid detergent when using the SmartDispense feature. Powder (granular) or liquid detergent can be used in the Manual compartment. Like with all our frontload washers, detergent packs, pods, and sheets should be placed directly into the basket before the clothes are added, following the manufacturer's label instructions. Just your regular he detergent. Has a fabulous feature that lets you fill the detergent cup and the machine measures out what you need. Love this feature as well as it does softener also.

Liquid powder or pods. It has a powder dispenser tray and Softner and bleach dispenser. You can also load softner and liquid detergent for the machine to dispenser automatically. If you're looking for a brand that's only one tide. It works the best. Most detergent will say formulated for a high efficency washer.
