QuestionChromecast connection setupI tried to setup the connection from TV to my laptop. The laptop recognizes the TV connection, but I cannot complete the setup because i have VPN. My question is: how do manually dis-able VPN in order to use the Chromecast connection? Can i enable VPN after i am done with Chromecast? Or is there any other way to bypass this way of setup and make Chromecast works? Thank you.

- Answer You would have to set up the VPN on your router. Your laptop & chromecast have to be on the same wifi network

- Answer No this doesn't give u channels at all. It is used for "casting" videos and such from other sources. For example, you can look up a video on your phone (like YouTube) and cast it up to your t.v. for all to watch. You can also rent online movies on apps such as Google play and then cast them to your tv to watch with others.

- Answer Chrome cast should work anywhere in the house that gets wifi signal, because that is how it gets the signal to stream content.

Questiondoes the chrome cast connect to open wifi without pressing the connect button on your router?My neighbour lets me use his WiFi so can I connect without pressing the wps button on the router? will it pick up multiple WiFi's and connect to open and secured accounts(with appropriate passwords of course)

- Answer For first setup, the Chromecast broadcasts its own WiFi network that whichever device you use for setup will connect to. During setup, you can select a WiFi network and input the necessary information.

- Answer The Chromecast uses HDMI so you could get sound through that. If you want to cast picture to the projector and then audio to a different audio Chromecast I am almost certain that would not work as you can only cast to one cast device at once

- Answer If you have a smart TV it should connect to your WiFi to enable you to stream content from the internet without the need for a chromecast. However, you are limited to the options that your smart TV provides- hulu, Netflix etc. I use a Chromecast plugged into my smart TV because chromecast allows me to play anything that is on the internet onto my TV, whereas my smart TV limits my television options to the platforms that the TV brand provides an interface for and came preloaded when I purchased the TV. The chromecast is also a faster better connection than going thru the smart TV connection, so I always opt to connect via chromecast, even for content that my TV would support without a Chromecast.

- Answer I asked myself that a lot... and I recently bought one. Cable is just different than casting or streaming... Netflix lets you try a month for free... hulu a week.. with this device you pick up your phone, set up what you want to watch and in your living room, at your own schedule, just watch it... pause it between breaks. I prefer casting/streaming my movies and tv shows because I choose the time I want to watch them... not stick to a tv channel schedule. Once I bought the chromecast, youtube on tv, crackle and other apps... even youtube music are a lot of fun to watch.

- Answer First, you must be connected to the same wifi network as the Chromecast. You also need to download the Chromecast app on your tablet. Open the app and there will be an option to search for Chromecast device. Select this and your tablet will begin looking and pairing with the Chromecast nearby. This process is the same for tablets, cell phones, laptops, etc

- Answer It is not a Antenna. It will not receive a tv signals over the air. It is a Casting/Streaming device that Allows you to stream video and music from the internet or wifi device locally.

- Answer All this device do is cast your android base phone/tablet. I don't believe you can have apps on it. If you don't have it on your phone/tablet then no it can't play it and it won't have it.
