- Answer There is no battery, it does use WIFI and the only wire is for power.

- Answer No, it only works in the Google Home app. I also use the Nest app and can’t get the new camera integrated. So unfortunate!

- Answer Yes, that is how I have mines for years with no problem. The only issue is that you cannot use the night vision because of the reflection of the night vision light.

- Answer We plan on doing the same thing. As far as I can tell as long as the display is on it will show a live feed.

- Answer only when you pay 120 dollars a year for the max subscription. otherwise it's ONLY event based. (as of now, oct 2021)

- Answer Nest camera has more features and ability to cut specific portion of recorded video via web interface. New Google cam use application only and very limited.

QuestionIf this is located inside a garage that sometimes goes below 32 degrees F, will it damage the camera?

- Answer I currently have mine installed outside in a covered porch. Would not get wet but has been cold here in New England and the only issue I have is at times the video quality degrades showing purple shadows. I just turn the camera off and back on again via the app and it clears right up.

- Answer If you’re planning to add the new camera to a Home structure with an existing Nest Aware (2nd gen), the Nest Aware plan will apply to every camera on a given Home structure. Nest Aware (2nd gen) offers a whole home subscription that includes all Nest Cameras, Nest Hello and Google Home and Nest speakers (US only) and displays (US only) in your home. The maximum number of cameras per Home is 10. Since you can have a maximum of 5 Homes (Google migrated account), you can hypothetically have 50 cameras among those 5 Homes, each with Nest Aware (2nd gen) attached to each Home structure and applied to each camera.

- Answer I have 3 in a 10 X 10 area, they don't interfere with each other, you just have to give them different names. You may want to only have audio on one if they are close together.

- Answer Hi Nick, Hope you're doing well. Just a heads-up: since this is the wired Nest Cam, it won't record once it's unplugged. That's the same for all first-generation Nest Cameras. Only the battery-powered Nest Cam models (Nest Cam Battery) can record without being plugged in.

- Answer Hi there, hope you're doing well. All Nest cameras can be connected to different homes and used under different accounts, irrespective of whether they are included in a specific bundle. Just make sure to set up second-generation cameras in the Google Home app and first-generation cameras in the Nest app.

- Answer You can use any phone or tablet, but a Google Nest Hub (with display) or Nest Hub Max is best for continuous viewing as the phone and tablet will timeout.

- Answer Great question, Ali. Sounds like you may be running into an issue with the Night Vision on your Nest Cam (Indoor, wired). Most Night Vision specific issues are caused by your camera’s infrared light that reflects off a surface near your camera, like a shelf, window, window screen, or wall. Here’s are some solutions: 1. Turn your camera so that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view. 2. Move nearby objects that may reflect the infrared light. 3. Clean the lens with a soft cloth that’s made for cleaning optics. Dust, thumbprints and dirt can cause poor image quality. - Answer Hi Erin! While the Nest Cam (wired) is a fantastic device, it's not designed to work with solar power. It needs to be plugged into a regular wall outlet. But don't worry! It comes with a 10-foot power cable and a 7.5W USB-A power adapter to make setup a breeze.
