Intended for Antenna. However if you happen to have the ever fading Clear QAM cable (remember single input so one or the other) then you can watch / record that Clear QAM - DOES NOT work with any cable system that requires CableCARD or access Control - as most do now That is the purpose of the HDHomeRun PRIME HDHR3-CC
