I would guess your device would have to be compatible with the app. I would check out their site to see what you have or get a cheap Roku stick and go that route. I use Plex serverand use Rokus so I don't use their app. Good luck. The tuner has been really great. https://www.silicondust.com/live-tv/#devices

The real point of the HDHomerun box is to provide a networked based streaming tuner for use by devices like tablets, phones, computers and media servers like Plex. Android based TV's can probably get the app from the Play Store, but most other platforms at gonna be tough as a TV mfg is most likely not going to support a competing product. Some TV's like LG can search your network for DLNA streaming services and will find them (btw I have 2 Duo and 1 Quattro units) in the Input List. If you are using the Homerun DVR support then you just need to setup the service to do the DLNA support and then look for the stream on your TV input list. I use Plex Media Server in a very large setup and 3 Homerun devices.

The HDHomeRun app works on all the platforms listed on this page: https://www.silicondust.com/live-tv/#devices If your smart TV platform isn't on that list, you'll need to plug in a device, like an Xbox One, or maybe a Fire TV Stick to your TV to get the HDHomeRun app.
