What does the yellow light mean labeled carbon? null

I have this purifier & the yellow light is a reminder to change the carbon filters (black). The red light means it's time to change the HEPA filters (the carbon filters sit on top of them.) I have an older unit & I have to reset the light manually by pushing on it with something like a paper clip. Maybe the newer ones will reset automatically

When that light is on it is indicating that it is time to change the carbon pre-filters, the black pieces of filter material that are held on top of the hepa filters by the plastic tabs.
