Hi Brandy, if you are using the unit only on the dehumidifier setting, then do not connect the exhaust hose. Continuous drainage is then necessary for the unit. When operating only as a dehumidifier, the unit will blow out warm air. Please feel free to send us an email at [email protected] for more questions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All regular dehumidifiers exhaust hot air into the room when they are in use. This air conditioner when it is in "dehumidifier mode only" will do the same. Think of it as a bonus for heating the room in cooler weather. When you are using the unit as an air conditioner for cooling it also dehumidifies the air it puts out its main front vents. Therefore in warm weather use the air conditioning function to dehumidify the room at the same time you are cooling. I have several ordinary dehumdiifiers in my home an they all exhaust heat. This is normal. If you want to dehumidify and cool a room in warm weather use the air conditioning mode and it will vent the heat out the hose.
