“Are the filters made in China? If so, should I be concerned because on Amazon people are complaining of bad chemical smell emitting from filtets?”

There is no mfg. point in the paperwork with the filters. The toll free # for the experts is 1-800-477-0457 I am sure they can answer any concerns. I have not detected any odors and am completely satisfied with the product.

The filter pack on Amazon was different as the carbon prefilter was not as good as the ones on best buy. No idea why. Maybe due to a cheaper option to save Amazon money. Honestly the filters are a cheaper price on best buy and a better product. Have not noticed any chemical smell in the filters when purchased from either supplier.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes they are made in China and have the China manufacturing smell. I install in machine and then put in closet on high for4-7 days straight. Eventually the machine will clean the filters and you can move the machine into the main room. This can be a serious issue for us chemical sensitives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The odor problem is NOT related to the country of origin. It's a quality-control issue. Amazon sold a batch of bad ones in late 2018. I know, I got some of them. I have plenty of good ones, from the same sources, but different batches. Don't always blame China, sometimes blame the seller.
