We had the same issue. Come to find out, the computer that we connected it to didn't support the QHD resolution. We hooked up a different computer and it worked fine. Took the previous computer that was giving us nothing, hooked it up to an FHD display and then the picture showed up. Apparently, there is some work around for this, but we didn't look into that.

There are ways to see if it is the output from the computer, the cables, or even the monitor itself. The first method would be to connect this monitor via a VGA cable to the computer, but have the HDMI cable ready. If it is displaying, then connect the HDMI cable. You may need to go into the monitor's settings to change it to HDMI. If the HDMI is not displaying, it could be a cable issue. Make sure that the HDMI cable is HDMI 1.4-compliant, which could mean the purchase of a new cable. If it is still not displaying, then your next step will either be contacting HP Support or exchanging the monitor.
