HP Photo Black ink cartridges use black and gray inks to produce more accurate shades of black when printing photos or pictures. Depending on which HP printer you are using, the printer will either use the black ink cartridge only or it will use the photo black ink cartridge along with the standard black ink cartridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.From what I can tell, yes, the RIGHT sided FATTER BLACK INK cartridge with the BLACK PENTAGON symbol on it is for documents. The NARROWER left sided BLACK INK cartridge has a BLACK BOW-TIE symbol along with a camera (photo) symbol on it. My black photo (skinny left side) keeps getting used up when the skinny coloreds don't. I suspect I need to adjust my gray/black scale in my print settings to make the printer punt to the RT SIDE FAT cartridge.
