On the instruction manual, it says: "Do not use USB for setup: Printers with a label covering the USB port must be set up with HP Smart and an Internet connection. After setup, you can print using a USB cable if needed, but the printer must also remain connected to the Internet." Seems like the printer will need to be connected to the internet still, even if using the cable. That is super misleading from what's been commented/info provided by Best Buy/HP. Hopefully it will still work without wifi.

Please try again later.Yes it does have a connection for a cable to connect the printer to your computer, however, the cable does not come with this printer and I don't know which cable is compatible. I been using my printer using wifi and I have had no issues, the only thing is that whatever network your computer is on the printer also has to be on the same network in order to print. Also when scanning you can only scan 1 page at a time because there is no feeder for scanning only printing.
