Okay, the error state can mean many things: bad ink cartridge, faulty print-head, a paper jam, and so on. You could take the ink cartridges out first. You could then check both ends of the printer for jammed paper. Lastly, you could turn it off and back on to see if any of this helps. If nothing works, it's the motherboard on the printer. That would spell the end of your printer.
