QuestionWhat is the TDP wattage of this laptop?

- Answer It’s base clock is 80W, and the boost is to 100W. The link below is a mashup of their 2020, and 2021 specs, but it clearly shows 100W max boost for the 3070. I expect it to perform slightly below the Zephyrus G15 3070 since the Zephyrus has a slight overclock from the factory, a slightly better CPU, but it has the same 80W—100W range. I inferred 80W base power draw because 1290MHz corresponds to 80W. The specs clearly state 100W, though. https://www.omen.com/us/en/laptops/2020-omen-15-amd/specifications.html

QuestionOne of the pictures says its 300hz but someone answered saying its only 60hz, is it 300hz or 60hz

- Answer The HP OMEN 15-ek1013dx will be 300hz. If you look under the "From the Manufacturer" section, it indicates that the laptop will be 300hz. Under the "From the Manufacturer" section there is also another section called "Documents" that give a bit more details on the laptop.

- Answer Yes, you can switch it to GPU vs Hybrid through Omens Command Center. It will require a reboot, but with the SSD, you're only looking at 30 seconds or so.

QuestionWhen did this go on sale? It says sold out but I’ve been checking for 3070 laptops every 4 hours or so and never saw it listed before and it’s already sold out?

- Answer I think it was a mistake to list it now they just have it listed I don't think it will come into stock. At least until hp makes their refresh for the year which I think usually happens by the end of the school year.

- Answer There is alot of good external HD out there but you should upgrade using a internal SSD, its easy and fast upgrade, and cheap also. If you want external HD anyway get one that connects with thunderbolt or usb-c I added a few products a recommend.. Goodluck

- Answer It's got an RTX3070 and a 1080p screen. It will run Minecraft just fine. Now if your running an external display, you may start having issues at higher resolutions with Ray Tracing enabled.

- Answer Yes, dual channel and BOTH slots are available! Lots of companies will solder one stick in, but this Omen has both as user replaceable. HP says 32gb max and honeslty, that's all you'll ever need at this spec, but you can actually run it in dual channel with 64gb.

- Answer AMD Ryzen versions are currently available on the HP website with a ~1-month shipping. I believe they don't even have the Intel ones anymore in their configurations. But as a trade-off you get the 144Hz screen there instead of 300Hz here (which is surprisingly good, bright and fast screen for the price I must say). Also good to mention that based on the reviews I've read/watched on the internet, there is no big difference in FPS on Ryzens when gaming. For any cpu-heavy tasks of course Ryzen 9 of 5-series is a killer. But keep in mind that Ryzens on the high load are even more hot than Intels (100 vs 85 celsius in average). Of course this is on the max performance which is better on Ryzen. Personally, I just got another one with Intel from BestBuy after I returned my previous defected one. Did not want to wait a month and don't need the powerful cpu much. And I like the faster screen as well.

QuestionDoes anyone know the m.2 slot lengths/sizes? 40, 60, 80? 512 isn't going to be enough and I'd like to have a 2tb to put in when this gets delivered. Want to make sure I order the right thing.

- Answer M.2 2280 fits just fine. There are TWO M.2 slots, so if you're going to use the second one, make sure to peel the plastic protective film from the inside of the heat spreader.

- Answer It should do the job admirably enough as is and better if you upgrade your ram to 32gb. This, IMHO is the best bang for your buck and all round machine you can get. If video editing is the MAIN thing you'll be doing though, I'd recommend looking for a gaming laptop with a Ryzen 9.

- Answer Better if you turn the GPU off and adjust the refresh rate down to 60. Gaming though, you'll be lucky to get 1.5-2 hours on battery.
