• A:Answer Thank you for the question. Both models feature automatic duplex printing. There are differences between the two, however: the 7001 has larger paper input capacity - 250 sheets (150 sheets in the 6001), and up to 30 envelopes (10 envelopes in the 6001). The 7001 has a higher recommended monthly duty cycle - 5000 pages (3000 pages with the 6001). The 7001's print speed is slightly faster at15 pages per minute black/9 pages per minute color (the 6001 prints 12 pages per minute black/7 pages per minute color).

Q: QuestionIf this was to sit for 1 or 2 months at a time will the ink in the machine dry out?

• A:Answer Thank you for the question. The ink in the tank will not dry out, but the ink in the tubes that feed the printheads may change viscosity. It depends on the climate/environment where the printer is located. To ease any doubt, print one page every 1-2 weeks (even from your phone) to keep the ink moving through the feed tubes and the printheads primed and healthy.

• A:Answer Yes. We have HP Smart Tank printers both at work and at home and print on them constantly from both our phones and our laptops. Desktops too. They are a bit pricey up front but the ink lasts forever and is easy and cheap to replace when it does run low. As far as I remember they both came with a basic manual in the box but I’m confident that it’s easy enough to find answers you need online if necessary. Plus HP has a very helpful app that you can use along with your HP printers on all your devices. Set up instructions are clear and easy to follow and set up is super simple. You can have your printer set up in like 10 minutes. I’ve had many printers in the past, and this one by far is the best. It’s super easy to use super cheap to maintain and it makes the best copies and printing of any printer I’ve ever used. No black smudges on photo copies, they’re pristine.

• A:Answer I am having the same problem when the printer has been idle for a while. Turning the printer off and back on seems to reconnect it. The real problem with this product is the complete lack of directions except the installation directions. The on-line help is of no use: it goes around in circles and never resolves the issue. There is no phone number provided. I doubt that I will ever purchase another HP product due to this total lack of support for this printer.

• A:Answer No, of course not. Go with Epson, HP, even Smart Tanks use thermal inkjet printheads, they heat up ink. HP rep gives a non-answer. He's promoting their special paper, that's not what Sublimation commonly means at this point.
