QuestionI'm not a gamer. What is the major difference between a laptop for gaming and one used primarily for surfing, and how would this laptop handle everyday office type tasks (surfing, word processing, Microsoft Office tasks)? Thanks.

- Answer As a tech nerd and a former gamer, I got a gaming laptop in 2020 which was released in 2018. Even thought I don’t play games much anymore, today in 2023 I use it for college and I have no issues or complains. The thing with gaming laptops is that they are build for high performance, which means they have high quality parts, which ultimately means that the computer is able to breeze through normal tasks. The one issue is the battery life, some gaming laptops tend to die pretty quick but if you can adjust your setting and don’t have a problem carrying your charger, then it is a no brainer.

QuestionHello. How many slots for ram memory and ssd does this equipment have? Is the memory soldered to the motherboard? How is the ram memory distributed? Is it 1x8gb or 2x4gb? Thank you

- Answer Thank you for the question. The RAM is not soldered to the motherboard. The Victus 15-fb1013dx has two RAM slots. One is occupied with 8GB of RAM. You can upgrade the RAM, up to 32GB. There is one M.2 slot for the SSD and you can change it if you'd prefer more than 512GB storage. We always recommend that upgrades be performed by professional technicians.

- Answer HP Victus 15-fb1013dx Gaming Laptop supports up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM1. You can upgrade your existing 8GB of DDR5 RAM (@ 4800MHz) to a higher capacity and speed, such as 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 RAM (@ 5600MHz). However, you may need to check the compatibility and availability of the RAM module. I hope this helps.

Question1. What is the maximum amount of ram this computer can be upgraded to? 2. Do both ram sticks need to contain the same amount of ram? Can I insert 16GB ram into the empty slot will leaving the original factory installed 8GB ram in place?

- Answer Thank you for the question. you can upgrade the RAM to 32GB. You can leave the 8GB stick in place and add 16GB to the other slot, or replace the original stick with 16GB, and add a 16GB stick to the other slot. You just want to make sure the speed and RAM type of both sticks is the same (DDR5, 4800 MHz).

- Answer I don't know if this will help but this is what I did with my laptop, I decided to get 2 sticks of 16GB Kingston FURY™ Beast DDR5 memory for a total of 32GB and I upgraded to a Pro Level - 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen-4.0 x4 3D TLC NAND Flash 1GB LPDDR4 DRAM Cache M.2 NGFF (2280) Solid State Drive - Kingston. If you had to ask me if it was worth it the upgrades? I would respond in a heart beat, YES! just make sure when you upgrade wait till the items are on sale, for the SSD and the 2 sticks of RAM I got it for $160 all together on sale as to regular price would have been over $200, you don't have to go with kingston but i did my research and this is what i thought it was good for me.

- Answer You can check the requirements for the software you would like to use by looking up the system requirements for it from the publisher's website. You will want to make sure that the device you want to use it on meets the minimum requirements. Updates and modifications can impact what settings you can run the software on or if you can use the software at all. This computer meets the requirements for Terraria, but without clearly stated requirements for the Calamity mod, you would need to reach out to the creator for further confirmation on what specifications are best for their mod.
