The converter will convert the power supplied to a different voltage if needed. Everything we needed and used in France did not need a converter and with the 2 USB ports we were able to charge three phones at once. Product worked great and I would recommend if traveling in Europe because it gave us the flexibility to use in both France and the UK which require different adapters.

Let’s delve into the difference between a travel adapter and a travel converter: Travel Adapter: A travel adapter is designed to help you plug in your devices to foreign electrical outlets. Its primary function is to change the shape of your plug, allowing you to connect your appliances to wall outlets in countries with different-shaped plugs than your own. In essence, it adapts your plug to fit the local socket design. However, it does not alter the electrical voltage; it only deals with the physical compatibility of the plug. For example, if you’re traveling from the United States (which uses a specific plug shape) to Europe (which has a different plug design), you’d need an adapter to fit your U.S. plug into European outlets. Voltage Converter: A voltage converter, on the other hand, serves a different purpose. It changes the electrical voltage of your electronic device. Most American-made electrical appliances operate at 110 volts. However, the majority of the world uses 220 to 240 volts. If you’re traveling from a 110-volt region to a 220-volt region (or vice versa), you’ll need a voltage converter. The converter ensures that your device receives the correct voltage to function properly. Important Note: Many modern travel gadgets are dual-voltage, meaning they automatically adjust to different voltage systems. Always check your device’s label or owner’s manual to determine if it’s dual-voltage before using a converter. Using a converter on a dual-voltage device can potentially damage it.
