Nope. Unless your heatsink is maybe 1/16" high. On the other hand, I saw other answers that said the pad they include is a "thermal pad", so maybe it's transmitting the heat to the case. Others also noticed how warm the case got after awhile. I only used it to transfer files, so I didn't use it long enough to witness any heat-related issues.
