A:Answer I also have a garage door opener that is usually incompatible. But this Insignia device worked! Check the wiring on your garage door opener. Mine had three wires coming from the ceiling but two of them were connected into the same two (red/white) ports on the opener. I figured out that those two wires had to be the door obstruction sensors down near the base of the garage door. The third wire was split into ports 3 and 4, and that meant it was coming from the hard-wired, interior door opener button (which you pictured). I wired this Inignia into those same ports and it worked. So basically, this Insignia works as a second, hard-wired interior door button but with WIFI and Apple HomeKit and Siri control. And this is why the instructions say the existing interior door opener should not have a ‘learn’ button; because it it does, it means it is not hard-wired into the garage door opener, and this Insignia needs those ports to share.
