Yes this machine WILL and has scratched my hand scraped hardwood floors and left marks in my slate tile. Culprit is the front wheel as everything else if soft rubber. Dirt can get embedded in the plastic and WILL leave deep scratches as it has with mine. Currently in discussions with customer service- not sure how they’re going to handle this one. DONT risk it- the trade off in not worth it. Very upset and disappointed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless you have very soft hardwood floors (which I guess is possible) it doesn't scratch hardwood floors if you keep the front swivel wheel cleaned out. You can pull the entire front swivel wheel assembly out by hand, then you can pull the roller wheel out of the swivel wheel assembly. You need to do that periodically to make sure nothing is clogging the assembly and preventing the wheel from rolling freely. I've been using this model (and its predecessor the 650) for 8 years on my oak floors, and I've never had an issue. Flipping your Roomba over and cleaning it often is critical to its functionality and long life.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes scratched our floors and we remove front wheel every day to make sure it is moving freely and still scratched circular patterns into our floors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It scratched my engineered hardwood floors in several places. Very upset!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes caused circular scratches on every inch of our pine wood flooring.... we only use it in the carpeted bedrooms now. Very disappointing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! My Roomba (which I have always loved but now hate) has scratched the heck out of my antique hardwood floors. There are swirling scratches all over the place.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, if the caster stops swiveling or rotating. I learned that the hard way, despite the warning on p. 6 of the 960 manual.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.ABSOLUTELY damaged my brand new real oak floors with satin finish. NEVER BUY A ROOMBA IF YOU HAVE HARDWOOD FLOORS. We have an iRobot s9+ and the rubber roller brushes polish shiny spots in the floor whenever the roomba pauses, turns, or hIts any sort of high spot. Even worse if it picks something up in the roller and continuously rubs it on the floor. Its permanent damage and cannot be undone unless you redo your satin finish.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use my vacume and mop room ba daily and they Haven’t scratched at all.! Until you learn how to prepare the room you should watch it. Mine are strong enough to push open slightly opened doorstop make sure all doors are securely closed. It’s much like having a two year old toodler in the room..
