Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I spent the whole morning after getting a warranty replacement JBL 5.1 Soundbar for the one I had for four years (sound went completely out on the old one). So, I was thinking high tech/sophisticated when my brand new soundbar started cutting in and out on the audio. My scenario is a little different as my symptoms were occurring while using my Windows 10 PC, however, this "google gold" lead here started me in the right direction, sort of. The "PCM" formatting may be why I do not have an issue with "PCM display flashing" while using my Samsung 4K TV as it is set to PCM format. LOOONG story short: I ended up moving from formatting to bitrate (speed). What I found was that my PC's setting for my soundbar was not high/fast enough. I upped the speed to "16 bit-176400hz (Studio Quality)". How I got there is I began googling the speed rate of youtube/spotify streaming and found that they go upwards of 126k hz. Well, my Windows 10 default setting was at the nominal "DVD Quality" rate of 48k hz. So, if you like, go to audio settings, find the output device in question, select advanced settings, change speed to one sufficient for your usage.. and.. hopefully.. relax. After two hours of deliberation I write to you weary and heavy laden souls, as I listen to my favorite peace-inducing tunes, who may need guidance: have hope my friends, there is an answer and you can overcome. God bless

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So mine is connected through the fiber cable to an LG TV and my PCM flashing and sound on/off issue went away after I switched the Digital Sound Out option from PCM to Passthrough under Sound -> Sound Out -> Optical settings. Hope this helps at least LG TV users xo
