- Answer mine just started doing it tonight.. Every 20 seconds the sound shuts off for 3 - 5 seconds. My tv is on PCM.. Please help JBL

QuestionMy JBL 2.1 subwoofer has a jack for an optional Subwofer Upgrade . How does that work? I can’t seem to find any info on JBL’s website and no forums addressing this.

- Answer The jack on the subwoofer is basically for upgrading the firmware on both the soundbar and the subwoofer.

QuestionI recently purchased JBL-2.1 Soundbar,impressed very much by the sound quality,but i am facing a problem that when i connect the soundbar (HDMI ARC) & TV (HDMI Out) through HDMI cable, i getting mute displayed on sound bar,tried unmuting from remote also.

QuestionUsing the optical cable can I plug this directly into my cable box and have it work for my Samsung tv? I am trying not to take the tv off the wall to connect

- Answer Yes it'll work with the optical cable coming out of the cable box. But the soundbar won't work with say a DVD player or anything else you have hooked up to the TV since the audio source is only coming from the cable box.

QuestionThe system was on and operating normally, I detected an electrical smell then saw smoke coming out of the sound port on the subwoofer. Unplugged it and moved it outside. Any ideas/ suggestions. It's 1 year old.

QuestionI have a JBL charge speaker. Would this be able to connect to that speaker as well via Bluetooth?

- Answer If you're listening to music from your phone or laptop via bluetooth, you could connect to both this system and another bluetooth speaker, and play them both at the same time. I just did that tonight with this system and a non-JBL bluetooth speaker, so there's no reason you couldn't do that with your charge speaker if that's also a bluetooth speaker. However, you would not be able to use the other bluetooth speaker with your television sound, as that is not transmitted by bluetooth, but through optical or HDM cable.

- Answer I play my Alexa Echo 2nd Gen. I assume, as long as you’re sound bar is Bluetooth, you can. I just tel Alexa to play on JBl Sound Bar 2.0

- Answer The voltage rating for the JBL BAR 2.1 depends on the region that they are being sold to. If it was purchased in the US, it would be 110V. For other regions, it would be 220V.

QuestionDoes this soundbar have IR return? This soundbar will be in front of the IR of my Panasonic TV, and I want the TV remote to still work separately. My current Sony soundbar has this feature. Thanks!

- Answer When I use the volume on my TV remote it works for the sound bar too but the speed of pressing it will change faster on the TV than the soundbar

- Answer The soundbar doesn't have the connect app. I'm not sure why you'd want to connect a small 16 watt speaker to a 300watt system anyway.

QuestionJust bought JBL Bar 2.1 and FOUR, yes FOUR charge 4 speakers. My want was to have TV go to sound bar and then pair my 4 JBL speakers to the sound bar. Now seeing the JBL Bar can only transmit via the TV or Bluetooth. Is this correct?

QuestionCan you use an hdmi to optical converter with this product? Mine did not come with an optical cable and it doesn’t seem to be working when I go from HDMI out to optical on my Samsung TV since there isn’t an HDMI ARC plug-in. Thanks!

- Answer Mine did the same after about 4 months, I returned it to JBhifi. They replaced with new. The new one now is two weeks old and has started doing the same thing. I’m going to return it. Very frustrating, because the sound is superb. I’ve normally had great experiences with JBL. Considering an alternative brand now.
