It will work. When I bought my package, based on the size and needs of my house, the key fob wasn't an option. I brought this home, went to my base unit (keypad) and it paired immediately.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should. But I think you might have to ( and should ) delete the missing key fob in the settings on your keypad first. If the missing key fob falls into the wrong hands, those hands now have access to your alarm system. And I assume you're not talking about the old SS alarm system.
