• A:Answer Cable is junk. Ends are too small for computers Ethernet ports. If you want to hold both ends in both computers to keep contacted. Sure, buy it. Moving over WiFi is painfully slow. So far I am 70 hours moving a 1.8tb computer. Still only half way done. There used to be a LOT better way to move from one computer to the next. Laplink is a poor way to do this.

It does a good job of transferring programs but have patience because it can take a long time. It can be difficult to install. I'm 67 and have used this software a number of times. It works!

• A:Answer You can by doing the following and then clone to the 2nd computer using the PCV file. This will take twice as long than have two separate computers hooked up at the same time. You can transfer through your home network or using the crossover cable that comes with the physical version. Create a Transfer File (PCV file) on an external hard drive to transfer to a new PC. The PCV file can only be restored using the same version of PCmover that created it.

• A:Answer You do NOT need a CD/DVD drive as the software is downloaded from Laplink's website. There is a version that when you order the physical box, a crossover cable is included. You can transfer using your home network instead of the cable.

• A:Answer The Ultimate version come with the transfer cable, but you have to purchase the physical product. Best Buy does not sell the cable. Just do a search for a "crossover" cable from a local or internet seller. If you transfer using your home network, then you do not need the cable.

• A:Answer For Microsoft Office, the answer is no. I will have to be reinstalled. Other programs are a "hit and miss". Commercial software usually does not transfer well while programs that do not need a "key" do transfer. PCMover will tell you if it thinks a program will transfer without any problems, possible problem or not at all.
