Q: Questioni dont understand why the manufacture is avoiding the answer... are they politicians?? based on the number of slots used, how many are available/not used for the customer to use for future upgrades without replacing any of the components????

• A:Answer I agree -- the Lenovo product expert is not useful Inside the case there is space for 2-3.5" drives, 3 SATA ports, 2-4pin SATA power ports. Mine included an extra SATA cable and 380Mm Sata Power Cable to power a single SATA device. In order to power another SATA component, I would have to purchase another SATA power cable and SATA data cable that are not included. The SATA power cable is not from the PSU but rather from the motherboard (a special Lenovo 4-pin connector). I installed a 2.5" SATA SSD 2TB in the 3.5" bay using a converter/mount and it works splendidly with no configuration issues. I have no reason to believe more than 2TB is an issue. Windows recognizes the drive and you can format it as GPT to support very large drives. I don't know if YMMV on this depending on what parts Lenovo places in your desktop, but everything works splendidly for me and I highly recommend this desktop!

Q: QuestionDoes a 500 watt meet the requirements for this system?

• A:Answer yes and no..... yes for the stock system but no if you add large hard drives to the system over 2 tb....it has sata slots for 3 hard drives and one NVMe....The Lenovo product info detailed that only two 2 terabyte drives can be installed and 1 TB NVMe.....which leads to the conclusion the the power supply with not meet the requirements for large internal drives... Also only one power supply is available , so another power supply cable with have to be purchased for a second drive, this computer uses a 12 volts power supply, with is a 10 pin motherboard connector unlike the 24 from conventional motherboards , the voltage regulator is built in to the mother board not the power supply..... the the extra power supply cable with need to be plugged into the motherboard and then the drive. Moreover, Sata data cable will also be needed for a second drive...... But large capacity external USb drives can be used since they have their own power supplies that is plugged into a wall outlet.....

Q: QuestionCan someone please describe to me how to install a 3.5” HDD? I see what I’m certain is the slot for it in the bottom right but that plastic band is in the way and I can’t get anything to move, or find guides for this model online. Also, where is the SSD?

• A:Answer You can remove the plastic insert from the cage, it might require a bit of force. Once the plastic disk tray is out, there are 4 pins on the inside that will line up with the 3.5" HDD. The same will go in placing an 2.5" SSD in a 3.5" enclosure that would fit in there as well.

• A:Answer yes, but with the power limitation of the 500 watt power supply, higher graphic cards or CPUs will not be recommended..... But you can put a 12 gen I5 or I3 like did in this computer, I swapped out the 3060 and put in my 1660...... I used the I7 12700 and the RTX 3060 in my new build since the price of these two components are like almost 800 dollars retail, when I got this for 850...... so now I technically, have two computers for the price of one.....

• A:Answer depending on the power consumption, this computer has a 8 pin from the power supply, any graphics card higher the than RTX has dual 8 pin, this will be a limitation... The computer was made to work with this gpu based power and the CPU the psu can provided, higher graphics cards us more power, so a higher grade power supply will be needed, also this psu is only 12volts with a 10 pin motherboard connector, unlike standard 24 pin motherboard power connect...... Based on the current power supply and the motherboard requirement, I do not recommend a higher graphics than RTX 3060 , but you can go lower, and take the 3060 for another build..... I did this, I put an I3 12th gen and 1660 super in this build and used the the I7 and 3060 in my existing build, since it was cheaper to buy the prebuilt with these parts.... so now got two computers for the price of upgrading....
