This is a response to the Lenovo rep who answered my question above. You stated: "16GB max offering / 2400MHz DDR4, 4GB memory soldered to system board, one DDR4 SO-DIMM socket." The PDF spec sheet you've pointed me to specifically states: "16GB max offering / 2400MHz DDR4, optional 4GB memory soldered to systemboard, one DDR4 SO-DIMM socket" If, as you are saying, there IS 4GB soldered to the board (because again, the spec sheet says that's OPTIONAL), then how, exactly, are we getting to 16GB max? Given that 12GB RAM sticks don't exist (as far as I know), I am guessing that there is NOT actually 4GB soldered to the motherboard, no dual channel, and in fact, there is only a single, user-upgradable RAM slot that can handle 16GB max. Can you please tell me if that is correct or not? Thank you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a single RAM slot, it contains a stick of 8GB DDR4 2400mhz, no on board memory. You can swap out the 8GB stick for a 16GB stick at 2666mhz, I have just done this with mine and it works just fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did the same thing. Replaced the 8GB RAM with a single 16GB. Works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Lenovo Product Expert ,you say 4 gb on the board non removable ,where is the other 4 gb "the laptop is 8gb"
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Laptop has 1 ram slot, which had a 8gb module installed. I was able to upgrade it to 16gb.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.CORRECTION: The Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 Gaming Laptop, model number 81LK01MSUS, is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. This configuration ships with 8GB DDR4-2400MHz RAM in the one available RAM Memory slot. Your certified technician can replace the existing 8GB RAM stick with a 16GB RAM stick. We recommend you consult your certified technician about your upgrade options.
