QuestionIs the stylus supposed to work out of the box without adding a battery?I just bought this and was expecting to be able to use the included pen. The pen has metal contacts like it is supposed to charge while inserted, but some other thinkpad pens seem to indicate you have to put a AAAA battery in it, but I don't see a place for a battery in this pen. So I am wondering if I need to turn something on for the pen to work? Or maybe I am missing something and I need to get a new battery.

- Answer The stylus should work out of the box. No batteries included. The laptop charges the stylus. A full charge takes about 5 minutes.

QuestionStorage spaceI was wondering if there is a way to increase the storage space. I am not sure I can live with a 256 Giga of storage. Can the laptop be easily integrated with with SD card for example or is it going to be very slow?

- Answer It has an unoccupied 42mm M.2 slot on the logic board that you can install an SSD into. Also, this laptop uses a standard SATA 3 connector and 2.5" drive bay if you want to swap the stock 256 GB drive out for a larger one.

QuestionWhy does the default desktop background say "ASUS" instead of Lenovo?I literally just opened this up, plugged it in, did the initial setup, and noticed that the desktop background shows ASUS. Did I get some kind of knockoff unit? It is brand new from BestBuy.

- Answer I'm assuming the last computer you signed in on was an Asus. With windows 10 when you create a Microsoft account it saves your user settings including your background. I previously returned an HP Spectre and changed the background to a custom image. When I logged into the new Lenovo it immediately changed the background to the one I had on the Spectre

QuestionModel questionWill thinkpad yoga 14 release the version includes i7 6500U? I really need i7 for my job and I only like 14 inch thinkpad yoga. I noticed that the thinkpad yoga 460 was announced in September and I thought this model is pretty close to that one, what's the difference between these two?

- Answer This laptop is the 460 yoga in everything but name. It is the Best Buy consumer model (no fingerprint, no QHD screen, 1 processor config). The business oriented models will re rolling out supposedly in January or February. Secondarily, if you are happy with the power of a Broadwell i7, then you will get the same performance out of this Skylake i5, same benchmark scores. Even then, the Skylake i7 is only around %10 faster in benchmarks, so you won't be seeing that much of a difference in real world usage.

QuestionCan you upgrade the SSD?Can you upgrade the factory installed 256GB SSD? Is it just a 2.5"? Would the SanDisk Ultra II work in it?

- Answer I upgraded my with a Samsung 840 EVO 500GB and Also added a 256GB M.2 SSD in the empty slot. Wow now has 768GB of storage and 16GB of memory. It is a great ultrabook

QuestionWhat was included in the box?This is my third Lenovo laptop purchase in about 2 years but the first time the laptop did not include printed material of some sort. Also, the power cord is two prong instead of three.

- Answer Mine came with only the following printed material: Lenovo ThinkPad Safety, Warrant, and Setup Guide I was surprised by this also, but was sufficient to get the product up and running. - Answer No. It only has one RAM slot. But you can purchase a 16GB RAM module. That's what I did and it works great.

- Answer Yes. I believe it utilizes Wacom drivers, and works comparable to the sensitivity I saw on my Surface Pro 3 & 4.

- Answer Yes, this is the Best Buy version of the 460. They have all the same pieces and the manual is the same for both this and the 460. Yes, the pen has good pressure sensitivity. Yes, you can buy a 16GB RAM module to upgrade it. I did and it works great.

- Answer The stylus comes with the purchase. It's not widely advertised but the stylus is an active one (pressure sensitive) and can be stored as well as charged in the silo located at the left side of the laptop. It is battery-less and uses a supercapacitor which allows it to be charged to 80% within 15 seconds of putting it in the silo, and to a full 100% within 5 mins.

Questionmouse/trackpadI have to do a lot of typing and with most laptops the mouse pad can make that a real pain, on my current laptop I just hit a button and I can turn my mouse pad off as to not brush the pad with my wrists causing my document to do things I don't want so on this laptop can you turn the mouse pad off?

- Answer Yes, you can turn the touchpad off in the systems settings > devices > mouse & touchpad > toggle the touchpad from on to off.

QuestionAuto rotation does not work after installation of Windows 10 in a new SSDI have upgraded its SSD to a larger one and installed Windows 10 in it. However, the auto rotation functionality is gone, even after I installed tons of drivers downloaded from Lenovo's web. I have also updated Windows up to date, still does not work. Anyone has experienced this?

- Answer I ran into this as well. You'll need to download and install the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution driver, currently found here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds112057. That will allow auto-rotate and auto-brightness (display and keyboard) to function again.

QuestionHow glossy is the screen? I know it's not matte, but does it have any of the anti-glare aspects that, say, Apple uses — or are we talking mirror-glossy?

- Answer It's really, really glossy. You don't notice it much until there is sunlight on it and then it is glare city. 99% of the time I don't notice though. Just if I'm sitting in a sunny spot. I definitely recommend the notebook, but do be aware of the glare...

QuestionIs anyone having the problem of the laptop being "plugged in but not charging"?

- Answer If your battery is at 80% charge or higher , it will not charge if you plug in at 80% charge or more. This is to extend the life of the battery. Let the battery discharge below 50% then plug in and the battery with begin to charge. It will charge to a full 100% charge, it just won't charge if you plug in at 80% of full charge or more.

- Answer Hi Sariamrza, This unit uses DDR3 memory for the GPU. It's clocked at 1072 MHz with a small boost clock, if needed. Full details can be seen in the attached GPUz readout. I don't play many games but I can tell you that Source powered games (HL2, Garry's Mod, Portal 1&2, CS GO) all run at high settings 60+fps (I use wait for Vsync so it's capped at 60) Best, Chris

QuestionBattery loses charge overnight when the laptop is turned offI was wondering if anybody is experiencing the same issue of battery draining while the laptop is fully turned off (Not hibernate or sleep mode)! Mine loses about 3% over 10-12 hr period of turn off time. Is there a mysterious part of the laptop that uses the charge while the laptop is turned off ?

- Answer “Fast Startup” being on causes Windows to do a “hybrid shutdown”, rather than a full shutdown. From “Windows Ten Forums”: Yep, if you're running only on battery, then Fast Startup may not be the best option for battery life since the PC doesn't do a full shutdown. Fast startup (aka: hybrid boot or hybrid shutdown) is turned on by default in Windows and is a setting that helps your PC start up faster after shutdown. Windows does this by saving system info to a file (hiberfil.sys) upon shutdown so when you start your PC again, Windows uses that system info to resume your PC instead of restarting it.
