Definitely! I'm a computer consultant and I recommended this laptop for a person in construction that uses it for that type of software and it works awesome!

Please try again later.This laptop works for everything but i would choose something else just because engineering is specific and you'd be wanting something specific but this is a all around type of computer can defiantly do the job. I forgot the laptop that was best for engineering sorry, but its at best buy!

If you are running AutoCAD, Revit or similar software I would recommend a powerhouse with more RAM,32mbs at the least. Intel processor with a high end NVIDIA graphics card. We purchase custom built units with the latest Intel processors, 64mb RAM & Nvidia 4060 or higher graphics cards to run AutoCAD, REVIT, Photoshop & Enscape3D.

But if not graphics intensive this is quite a powerful laptop; I am personally adding RAM. I use it for Processor intensive Music Production
