For the LG - Smart Portable Air Conditioner Model: P1419IVSM The window installation kit allows you to install the air conditioner in most vertical-sliding windows 23” to 60” wide, or horizontal-sliding windows from 23” to 60” high. For longer window openings, assemble and adjust the panels to fit the window opening. Use Mounting plate screws (included) to fix the panels together at the proper length. For best results, keep the vent hose as short and straight as possible. However, shape the diffuser end of the vent hose into an inverted U shape just inside the window to allow any rain or condensation to drain out the window. Has a 5" Diameter. `Jai.

  • QuestionHow long is the hose? We usually pull the ac away from the window to get further air flow. We have used LG portables before but not with pre-attached hose.

The standard height of sliding doors is 80 inches tall, and the window installation kit that consists of a window vent panel and extension panels for this unit can be adjusted to fit in in horizontal-sliding windows 60 inches high so you could purchase another 23" extension panel if you can secure it in your vertical-sliding door...^Ivan.

This model features a self-evaporating design—most of the moisture the unit collects is sent back into the hot-air exhaust and discharged out the 6″ exhaust hose you’ve routed through your window. In typical cooling mode, you won’t need to empty any tray or receptacle. However, if you’re operating in very high humidity or in “Dry” mode for extended periods, the internal condensate reservoir can fill up. In that case, simply: Turn off and unplug the unit. Locate the small drain plug on the back near the bottom. Remove the plug and allow any collected water to flow into a shallow pan or bucket.     • Answer The LG 10,000 BTU (SACC) / 14,000 BTU (ASHRAE) DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM does not have an Energy Saver mode where the fan and the compressor turn off when the air conditioner reaches the set temperature and then have the fan turn on approximately every three minutes to allow a sensor to accurately determine if more cooling is needed...^Ivan.

The LG 10,000 BTU (SACC) / 14,000 BTU (ASHRAE) DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM must be plugged into a dedicated, standard 120V , 3-wire grounding receptacle rated 15A / 120 VAC / 60 Hz, protected by a 15 A, time delay fuse or 15 A, circuit breaker. Common causes of a fuse for a portable air conditioner tripping or blowing include an overloaded circuit due to multiple appliances or devices being plugged into a socket that shares the same circuit as the socket you are plugging the portable air conditioner to. When multiple appliances or devices are connected to the same circuit, the total power draw can exceed the circuit’s capacity. This can cause the circuit breaker or fuse to trip, cutting off power to the entire circuit. A dedicated circuit is an electrical circuit designed to transmit an electrical current to one major appliance. It is different from a shared circuit, which splits electrical currents into multiple loads. A dedicated circuit is set aside with a specific purpose and has its own circuit breaker in your electrical box. It is intended for use with a single appliance or outlet. Portable air conditioners efficiently cool down specific rooms by extracting heat and moisture from the air, thus necessitating the expulsion of that hot air to maintain optimal functioning. This is why venting through a window is crucial for these units. Venting hot air outside not only enhances the cooling performance but also significantly improves energy efficiency. Without a proper venting system, the air conditioner will merely circulate warm air back into the room, leading to increased energy consumption and potential discomfort. A flexible exhaust hose and a window installation kit are included accessories with the air conditioner. The length of the exhaust hose is built to the product's specifications and cannot be extended, modified or replaced with your own longer hose. After installation, the Hose length is approximately 35.5" or less for best performance. It should not be extended beyond this length as it can cause back pressure resulting in stress to the compressor. This could cause a loss in efficiency, and possibly compressor failure...^Ivan.

  • QuestionHow easy is it to move this "portable" unit from room to room? I'd like to use it in my bedroom, mainly. However, I'd like to move it to the guest room at times. Also, may I vent the unit through a screen? TY!

    • Answer You can vent it through a screen. It would take a little effort to move the window panel and the unit itself is ~70lbs (but it does have little caster wheels). It would be a lot easier to move if the window sizes are the same in your bedroom and the guest room, if not you'll need a screw driver to adjust the panel
