update: I just installed the monitor. HDMI 1.4a supports 4k 3840x2160 30hz, with such limit, the mice pointer a little bit does not move smoothly while doing programing edit. I have to switch to 2k 2560x1440 60hz supported by HDMI 1.4a, then everything works fine. Overall, LG 24UD58-B is doing great, even I can only enjoy 2k 2560x1440 60hz due to HDMI 1.4a.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.update: the Dell monitor U2518D works fine EXCEPT it has screen-black issue, which happens randomly. The screen is suddenly black for 1 or 2 seconds then back normal, such issues happen sometimes within hours, sometimes within 10 minutes. Returned Dell U2518D back to Dell! Finally purchased BenQ PD2500Q 25" IPS LED QHD Monitor from BestBuy (just before it's sold out), it works great!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.update: I finally returned the unit due to the limitation HDMI 1.4a supports 4k at 30hz. Instead, I purchased Dell U2518D (1440p at 60hz) with more price, which is much better than LG 24UD58-B with the comparison of same resolution (1440p).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It also has 2 hdmi and display port. I don’t know on 1.4a. I own a pc and it comes with a newest HDMI card. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The HDMI ports on this LG 24" Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor (24" Diagonal), Model # 24UD58-B are HDMI 2.0 ports and they are HDCP compliant, but HDMI 2.0 is backward compatible, so the 4K signal from your laptop will still pass through to the monitor...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not know. I use the monitor for desktop. But if your laptop on 4K resolution, it should be support. Anyway you will have 14 days to return it.
