Ft. 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1417GSR has a self-evaporative system, but whether it will need to be drained or how frequently it needs to be drained will depend on whether you are in an area of low humidity or in an area of high humidity or on what the humidity level or dew point index is on any given day. When the internal water collection tank gets full, "E5" appears on the display and the air conditioner will turn off until the internal water collection tank is emptied. • hi this unit DOES NOT require emptying. the only time you need to hook up a hose for draining is if you use the dehumidifier mood; then you need to empty it. the hose is not included.
