  • QuestionWhat is the width of the 65 inch c8 stand? I need to know specifically for the 65 inch c8. I seem to be finding and getting different dimensions. I’m wondering if my current stand will work.

    Asked by Oled.

    • Answer The measurements for the C8 stand are a little complicated. The weight-bearing portion of the width of the stand in the front is about 35.5". The stand itself flares out and up from this 35.5" width to just under 40", but you don't need this extra width for support. The width of the stand in the back is about 16.5", and most of this is supporting the TV. The depth of the stand is just over 9". We are using the TV on a stand that is 44.5" wide, and there is plenty of extra space edge-to-edge. The stand elevates the bottom of the TV by about 2.125". We are having a riser made for the TV (just to raise it up a small amount to fully clear a sound bar), and we have ordered the riser to be 39" X 11".

  • QuestionHow do I pair 2 magic remotes-AN-MR18BA to OLED 65C8P so all functions operate on both the remotes? When I register the 1st unit and then the 2nd one, it prevents the 1st unit from displaying the cursor to access any functions. Wheel doesn't work.

    Asked by Lauren.

    • Answer 2020 July LG 7300 series 55".. same issue. Bought 2nd remote for the wife. Can register it but curser and wheel will not work. Can power off and change channels but very limited in other controls. Wish I'd read about this BEFORE I bought the 2nd remote.

  • QuestionIs there any difference in screen quality between the various LG OLED TV's? I'm not interested in the sound bar because I have my own system.

    Asked by sog.

    • Answer The C8, E8 & W8 are all the same processor and panel. The B8 will have the alpha 7 processor. The B7, C7, E7, G7 & W7 are all the same with a M16++ processor. I would highly recommend getting the C8, E8 or W8.

  • QuestionDo the LG OLED have the all important ATSC 3.0 tuner or are they ATSC 3.0 capable?

    Asked by QuestionOnLGTV.

    • Answer The LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65C8PUA does not have a built-in ATSC 3.0 tuner. It has a built-in ATSC 1.0 tuner. There currently aren't any TVs in the U.S. that feature a built-in ATSC 3.0 tuner. ATSC 3.0 is not backward compatible with the ATSC 1.0 standard and since the FCC adopted a report and order authorizing television broadcasters to use the “Next Generation” broadcast television (Next Gen TV) transmission standard (also called “ATSC 3.0”) on a voluntary, market-driven basis that requires full power TV stations voluntarily transmitting in ATSC 3.0 will still be required, however, to continue transmitting current-generation digital television (DTV) service using the ATSC 1.0 transmission standard to their viewers. This requirement to simulcast ATSC 1.0 with ATSC 3.0 is to be accomplished by stations partnering with other stations acting as “hosts” to transmit the “guest” station’s 1.0 or 3.0 format signal. The Order authorizes the voluntary use of the ATSC 3.0 transmission standard. Broadcasters will be permitted, but not required, to transmit ATSC 3.0 signals, as long as they comply with the requirements of the Order and related rules. Alternatively, broadcasters may choose to continue transmitting their signals solely in the currently authorized ATSC 1.0 transmission standard which may make sense for many stations, at least until new consumer equipment capable of receiving and displaying ATSC 3.0 signals penetrates a significant percentage of the market...^IFV

  • QuestionIs is possible to pair the sound of the OLED65C8PUA TV with my bluetooth hearing aids?

    Asked by Samille.

    • Answer Hi Samille. The LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65C8PUA has been tested for compatibility with our Tone Series Bluetooth Headsets. It has not been tested for compatibility with other brands and while it will work with most other brands, there are no guarantees that it will work with all brands. If your Bluetooth hearing aids support the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) which is the Bluetooth Stereo profile that defines how high-quality stereo audio can be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection you should be able to pair it with the TV. It might also work with the HSP (Handset Profile) and HFP (Hands-Free Profile) Bluetooth profiles which are those required for typical, mono Bluetooth headset operations...^IFV

  • QuestionIs it worth it to upgrade from the 2017 model? I’d be interested if there was an increase in picture quality, or more settings for picture. Thanks. Joe

    Asked by Heyjoe415.

    • Answer I would recommend waiting for the 2019 model since the panel will be revamped next year. That being said, the 2018 models are a great improvement over last years. Not so much in the panel but motion handling and screen noise. I upgraded from the 2016 model which was a huge improvement.

  • QuestionThis TV will be used for gaming. Do I need to worry about burn in?

    Asked by Jimmy.

    • Answer That’s what I use it for. I haven’t noticed any burn in. I was told you would have to play the same game with the HUD on the same spot for like 8 hours before anything would burn. I played RDR2 for like 6 hours yesterday and didn’t notice any burn.

  • QuestionAsking other owners, How’s the picture quality out of the box? Any major tweaks or Pro calibration to get it 100%? Coming from an LG UJ6300 LED 65” that has to go.

    Asked by Buyer.

    • Answer Hi Buyer. Even though your question is directed at other buyers, please be advised that unless you are satisfied with the picture quality of a TV right out of the box, just about every TV will need calibration because they all come with factory defaults which will need some calibration to give you the best picture possible. Professional Calibrators use professional tools to calibrate the TV for the room that it is installed in and for any devices that you might want to connect to the TV. No two rooms within the same house or apartment have the same lighting conditions so calibration will differ for each room. You can visit the support page for the LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), MOdel # OLED65C8PUA at https://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-OLED65C8PUA#manuals and scroll down to the Help Library and click on the first link under "Operation" labeled as "Best Picture Settings for your LG 4K or 4K OLED - TV" to see settings that you can apply to the TV to adjust them according to your environment and to your personal taste. A Professional Calibration will still provide you the best picture possible. LG also partnered with US Software developer Portrait Displays®, Inc. to provide auto calibration for our 2018 OLEDs using Portrait’s flagship software CalMAN ® by SpectraCal®. Your TV allows direct CalMAN access to the TV's internal look-up tables (1D and 3D LUTs) and the color accuracy can be so precise that the TV can match the video accuracy of professional reference monitors. The addition of this auto calibration software from Portrait Displays greatly streamlines the process for professional calibrators and ensures that you will be able to enjoy the full potential of your TV. Portait's CalMAN software is the video calibration solution chosen by nearly every professional video calibrator and by most end users in broadcast, production, and post-production, as well as the most popular solution for home video enthusiasts. You simply connect CalMAN on your computer to your TV via Wi-Fi or Ethernet and then let CalMAN Autocal make your picture perfect. CalMAN AutoCal by SpectraCal capability is available for not only Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), but also for all three varieties of High Dynamic Range (HDR): HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. • Questionneed some feed back I was looking into the LG C-8 but then started looking into the E-8 is there any big difference in performance also does the E-8 have more safety tools or programs to help with burnin is the E-8 worth the extra money ?

    Asked by andynoburnin.

    • Answer The differences between the E8 and C8 series OLEDs comes down to design, sound and size. Different designs. The LG E8 boasts a stunningly unique Picture-on-Glass design. The OLED panel is actually set on a piece of elegant glass, creating a gorgeous image that appears to float in the air, blending seamlessly like a piece of art just about anywhere. The C8 is also stunningly sleek and beautiful, just without the glass. Both are very close in their design, with the C8 coming in ever-so-slightly slimmer at 1.8 inches, to the E8’s 2 inches. When mounted on a table or other surface, the C8 gives you about 2-inches of clearance at the bottom, while the E8 is closer to a half-an-inch. Different speakers. The E8 has 4.2 channel speaker system with 60 Watts of output power, and the C8 has a 2.2 channel speaker system, delivering 40 Watts of output power. Different size options. Both the C8 and E8 offer 55-inch and 65-inch options, but the C8 also has a 77-inch screen available, while the E8 Glass TV does not. So, if you’re looking for an ultra-large screen, the C8 may be the choice for you...^IFV

  • QuestionIs it possible to configure the internal TV speaker to serve as a center channel speaker in a 5.1 system? Alternatively, is there an adaptor or other way to attach an external center channel speaker to the TV panel?

    Asked by Lobster.

    • Answer I wouldn't even consider doing this. All flat panel TV's sound systems are garbage - it's simply a matter of physics. You cannot acquire quality sound from something so thin (which is why Sony created their new system with their expensive OLEDs). You are far better off purchasing an actual center channel speaker and figuring out how to space it in your room. At the very minimum, purchase a sound bar.

  • QuestionIs there a burn problem with LG OLED TVs. Is there a way to avoid it? Is the problem similar to the old computer monitors or plasma Tvs where you needed to change the channel periodically to move any static logos.

    Asked by Glp50.

    • Answer OLED is a self-emissive technology, which brings many significant benefits to image quality and performance. As with any self-emitting display, it is possible for users of OLED TVs to experience temporary image retention under certain conditions, such as when displaying a static image on the screen for a long time. Even so, this phenomenon is rare under ordinary viewing conditions and is not a malfunction. OLED TV offers a function called Pixel Refresher, which helps to prevent temporary image retention. This function can be operated automatically or manually. The auto feature will activate when the TV power is turned off, but only after the TV has been turned on for a cumulated total of four (4) hours or more, which need not be consecutive. Pixel Refresher will automatically run for several minutes after the screen is turned off. (Please note that failure to supply the AC power or disconnecting the power cord from the outlet will disable the auto feature.) In addition to Pixel Refresher, there are other functions available for protecting the screen from image retention. For example, a function that automatically reduces the screen brightness level, in part or in whole, will be activated when a static image is displayed uninterrupted on the screen. Once the static image disappears, the brightness level will automatically return to the previous level. This function is an intended function, and not a malfunction. ^CP

  • QuestionWhat does the UA stand for on the C8PUA? What is the difference between the 8PUA and the C8P?

    Asked by RoMo.

    • Answer From my research, there is a B8PUA, C8PUA and E8PUA. The C8PUA and the E8PUA is the same exact TV except the E8 is a glass on glass which is quite elegant and it has stronger speakers with a subwoofer other than that they are the same TV. I have the C8 and I tell you that the speakers on it are very good, loud and powerful. Now as far as the B8 that one comes with a lower end model chip, it has the a7 as opposed to the C and E8 have the new a9 which is amazing. In case you didn't know that B,C, and E never change as far as the model the only thing that changes is the number, since these are 2018 models, they have an 8 after the letter and next year you will have B9, C9 and E9. Now the only one I am not too sure about is the A8PUA, I have only seen that model at Costco.
