A:Answer You have to configure the OUTPUT from your DISH Network box to output HD level signal (not sure if DISH does 4K resolution output yet)
This TV can do 4K, 1080p, 1080i and OTHER lower (worse) resolutions. Google those if you don't know what they mean. It's really simple. The more pixels you can output from the video source, the better the picture will be.
4K today, is best you can get, then 1080p (HD), 1080i(HD), 720p (HD), 720i (HD), etc. Be aware, not all content is in 4K or even in HD yet. Most modern and current content is available in 1080p, unless it is an older movie or pre 1999 TV show. Regardless, your TV tries to upscale the output from the sat box to make it fit. Some channels don't broadcast in HD at all too. Find out what you're watching. Your old Visio is pretty terrible doing that.
Set up your Sat box to output its highest resolution (READ THE DIRECTIONS ON THE SETUP SCREEN) and then use a HDMI cable to connect you new TV to Sat box.
THEN READ THE TV MANUAL - the rest is easy - or should be.
Probable not a DUDE... Probable that its is you not connecting it properly.
