I have had this soundbar for under three weeks and I am getting the same problem. The subwoofer is making popping sounds and overall sound distortion. It is so bad that I disconnected it until I can get it checked out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this problem for a couple months so I went out and bought another soundbar thinking mine was simply old and on its last leg (2 years old). Last weekend I decided to hook up my LG soundbar upstairs until the problem was unbearable. Strangely by moving the soundbar the problem has COMPLETELY VANISHED. The one factor that I've read that could be the culprit is that when it was downstairs, it was right next to my Cable/Wifi router. There must have been some kind of interference...but whatever the reason, I'm happy I didn't throw it away when I bought my new one!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was also having this issue on the SB36. Sub crackling even at low output. Really didn't make sense. My solution: While soundbar is on, Unplug sub Go to soundbar, hold Bluetooth & Vol down simultaneously for 5 seconds. Series of lights flash on the sounbar until it powers down. While it's off, plug in sub. Power on Soundbar. All is well. Hope this helps :).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was getting a popping noise that came from BOTH the sub and the speakers in my LG Soundbar (originally I thought it was just the sub but when I unplugged the subwoofer, the same random popping noise would come for the soundbar speakers. Since both components were exhibiting the problem, I knew that the speakers nor the sub were blown (highly unlikely that both would blow). What I discovered is that different people in the house were changing the volume differently. The system will pop when the volume on the speaker is turned way up (all the way up) using the volume control for the soundbar and the TV is turn way down so basically you're getting normal sound. I turned the LG soundbar volume down to about 1/4 of it's max output with its remote and then hid the remote so it doesn't get used (my TV is an LG so it drives the LG soundbar via the TV). No more popping.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the subwoofer popping. I followed the advice in this thread and moved the sub woofer away from the cable router and it stopped immediately.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I unplugged the subwoofer and changed the input several times. Then I plugged the subwoofer back in, and no more popping. I suspect that a lot of the problems people are having is due to a bad bluetooth pairing. Either there's interference from another device like a router (the cable company internet router makes the speakers go crazy if I stream movies over it, but it's fine if I stream from my cisco router even though they're both streaming on the 5 ghz band) or something's blocking the signal. If it's a first time install, check everything. Try the subwoofer real close to the bar, where interference has to be really strong to overcome the bluetooth signal. If it crackles or doesn't get sound from the subwoofer, try shutting off the bar and plugging in the subwoofer, try unplugging and plugging in the subwoofer with the soundbar on, etc. Look for a solid blue light on the back of the subwoofer; a flashing light means it isn't paired. If you play with it long enough, you're bound to get a clear signal. Then, put the subwoofer farther and farther away WITHOUT MESSING WITH ANYTHING. (You may need a long extension cord temporarily, but this is just troubleshooting.) If it begins to crackle and pop as you set it farther away, then it's interference. Get into the settings of any wi-fi devices anywhere near the soundbar and/or the subwoofer, and see if it's at 5 ghz. The bluetooth signal of the Soundwafe is on that band. If you can change to 2.5 ghz, good. If you can't, then you may end up getting a wi-fi router that works at 5 ghz but doesn't interfere with the Soundwafe. Hope this helps...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same problem. It is persistent and unbearable. I have moved the Sub all over the room, away from the wifi router, etc. No luck. It's basically useless to me. My conclusion is that the product is poorly insulated. It is not designed to work in the environment is designed to live in - i.e. an entertainment center/area. Even when moving it far away the pops are non-stop. My meter indicates there exists no seriously strong signal noise. Put simply, the product is not well made/insulated from even minimal signal interference. BUT THE WORST PART: THE PRODUCT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR HARDWIRED CONNECTIONS TO THE BAR. So it's worthless and unfixable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for posting this question because I had the same problem, and thought that it may have been defective or something. But reading your post made me try a little harder. I moved the subwoofer much closer to the sound bar (the woofer was across the room, now it's 3 feet away). This stopped the crackling. So, I think it was wireless interference. I wish this wasn't my answer because now my wireless subwoofer might as well be wired, but it worked for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So I have an LG sound bar 320 watts with a wireless sub woofer. The main sound bar squealed at some frequencies while watching movies. So today I tightened all the screws on the bar and it stopped. Now the problem was the cracking and popping the sub woofer made, it was horrible. So I unscrewed all the screws and stuffed a few old towels into the cabinet of the speaker and put it back together. Now it has deep bass with no vibrations, cracking or popping....simple fix.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine over 1 year now and the cracking and pooping noise is really bad. The sun is less then 3ft away from the sound bar itself and still the same problem so I disconnected the sub for now until I can fix it or get a new one. Of course it’s out of warranty. Don’t get me wrong before this happened it was great and I love it.
