Q: QuestionDoes this washer have an agitater?

• A:Answer No. Modern, high efficiency washing machines do not use agitators. They the bottom of the drum rotates independently of the rest of the drum and rubs the clothes against each other and the plastic on the bottom to achieve the same effect while the rest of the drum is designed to move the clothes from the top to the bottom so everything gets washed. In doing so, they use about 1/3 the amount of water, saving you money.

Q: QuestionPlease - I want machine to have a higher water level to be sure & rinse better. ;-) Thanks for any help.Most cycles use very low level of water. Once I was able to fill the machine when trying different cycles, but don't remember which one. My skin is very sensitive and residual detergent is left in clothes despite using very small amount, detergent for sensitive skin, and double rinse!

• A:Answer I hate that about this washer. I want my clothes COVERED. The setting I was told to use when I called LG is called "Bulky/Bedding." You can always hit the add water button which is not easy to figure out because they call it "Water plus" and not "add or extra water," which I think would have been easier to figure out. BUT you have to go back after you have selected it and make sure it does add extra water. That is a pain in my behind that I was NOT expecting when I bought this machine. If I had it to do all over again, I would not have bought this machine. I hate all of its pre-programmed settings and wish I had just stuck with the old fashioned kind that you could open the lid and add an item without having to waste valuable time standing there while it finishes spinning to unlock the lid. I also don't like that it won't start filling the water as you are adding clothes.

Q: QuestionDo clothes get tangled together?I have a high efficiency top loader by another manufacturer. By the end of the cycle the clothes are often knotted together, pants especially. Does that happen with this machine?

• A:Answer I've had this washer for a month and I haven't had any issues with clothes being tangled together when I pull them out. When I put the clothes in initially, I make sure that they are layered and not just tossed in as a whole. Maybe that helps. Good luck.

Q: QuestionI understand HE detergent is needed. Is either HE liquid or HE powder okay to use? Is one preferred over the other?

• A:Answer The manual says either powder or liquid can be used. There is an insert in the tray that you have to remove if using powder, but otherwise it should work the same. I have used liquid only in my machine.

Q: QuestionHow deep is the drum?22" to the plastic rim seems too deep for me to get laundry out. Is that depth figure available for this or other LG washers?

• A:Answer I am 5'4" and I can get the laundry out. I would measure but I am actually doing a load right now. I do have to really reach down there to get the last bit of clothes. Its a very nice sized drum!

Q: QuestionWhat is the real capacity of this washer?I have noticed Best Buy advertising the capacity of this model as 5.2. Other people also refer to the size as 5.2 as well when describing it? But the specifications only show it as 5.0? Why the difference?

• A:Answer Yep. Same thing happened to me while we were away from home. Came home 2 hours later to a flooded house because the "Water Inlet Valve" malfunctioned. Known issue on many LG Washing machines. Damage was in excess of $10k to my home. If you are going to keep this machine I would highly recommend "baby sitting" it to make sure each cycle complete as they should to prevent any damage to your home. We have a life to live and will not sit home to "baby sit" a washing machine so we opted for a non-LG machine. Hope this helps...

Q: QuestionCan you tell us how long a typical wash cycle takes for this machine? We bought a similar unit last year and it seems like the wash cycle takes forever! We are looking to replace it now because it was destroyed in a storm.

• A:Answer Normal cycle takes about 40-45 minutes after it gets started (takes about a minute for it to find weight/balance of load before initiating cycle). If washing with cold or tap cold water it adds a LOT of extra time to the cycle

• A:Answer We regret to read that your ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.0 cu.ft. MEGA Capacity TurboWash® Washer, Model # WT5480CW is making noises during the wash and rinse cycles. Squeaking sounds like that may be because the suspension rods need to either just be greased with a lithium grease or that the rods may need to be replaced. It could be something else and the machine will need to be insoected to determine the cause. If you have any experience on working on washers, you may be able to resolve this by greasing the suspension rods or replacing them yourself otherwise you may need to contact our Call Representatives at our Customer Interactive Center (800) 243-0000 and schedule a repair service with them or you can visit us at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/find-repair-provider to find a local repair service center who can perform the service...^IFV
