You can; I would station it(the extender) mid router and basement (area) because if it can't get the routers signal the extender is useless and will lose connection intermittently. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Maybe. It depends on how far you need to extend your signal. The extender needs to be able to see the signal from your router and it amplifies the signal from there. How far away you can get from the router depends on a lot of factors such as how many and what type of obstructions are between the router and the extender. I have mine 1 story away from the router and the signal strength seems fine. Keep in mind the extender has to have a different ID that than the router itself, for example, "Current Router Name_ext". So any devices you want to reach with the extender will have to reference the name of the extender rather than the name of the mother Wi-Fi. The only way to know for sure if it will work for your situation is to buy one and give it a try. If it doesn't work, you can return it if you don't wait too long. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This should work for your setup, sh2frfxfrwnd; just make sure that your router meets the system requirements of the Linksys extender and that it'll still be able to get at least 1 to 3 signal bars from it. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this product does a good job extending range through a few obstacles like walls and through elevation changes. I connect multiple devices to it at a time and it works well. I set it up once and it works consistently, even though I unplug it and may not use it for several days at a time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Linksys technical service says the WIFI extender does not boost the signal. I have a router downstairs. I receive 150 MPS upstairs, from the main router, I bought a Linksys WIFI extender and it dropped my signal to 30 mps. I spend hours on the telephone with many calls to their technical support and customer service. All in the Philippines and no US person to be found in 20 telephone numbers from GOOGLE They say all WIFI extenders only Extend.. they don't boost. They actually take off a little speed. Which is stupid. Why would I want device which gives me less signal than I already have?
