Yes you'll still need a modem. A modem is what actually brings the internet into your house this just turns it into a WiFi signal and disperses it throughout the house. Also make sure to run a speed test in the router settings to make sure you're getting the full speed you need. Mine was supposed to be around 500mb/s but was locked down to thirty until I ran the test.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need a modem to get ISP service to work in your home. If you do not need wireless you can just get a modem and plug your video game system directly into that. Or get a switch for the modem for more connections. If you would like this to route the traffic but do not want to use wireless you can turn the wifi off and set the modem to bridged mode so this router does all the work.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This product is not a modem router. If you are looking to use it to get on the internet, then yes you need a modem. If you are looking to use it for nothing but a home network link, connecting one system to another only, then this could work. Though you could have that same thing for far far less (like $5-10).
