“Calling from the contact list does not work. When clicking on a contact it returns to the main screen. The Best Buy associate transferred the contact list but we did not test it while there. Lively smart phone. Thanks”

Not sure what happened. Perhaps the transfer had a glitch. Have you tried manually entering a new contact yourself? If that fails, customer support might be able to resolve remotely.
